Millennium Development goals as a bench mark for measuring global development.

The United Nations Millennium Summit adopted eight ICTS could provide more efficient methods of production, accessible and affordable new markets, improved government services, and increased access to basic social goods and services. We in Nigeria are developing programs through Rushmillion.coms Open Africa Project towards eradicating poverty using ICTs, and improving healthcare. We are also working towards improving the environment through provision of portable water and enhanced tourism.

During the past decade, the international community had increased its focus on strategies to help the world’s developing countries share in the benefits of globalization and eradicate poverty.

Towards invading ICT policies in programs of shelter and food provision, new improved methods of production and basic amenities provision could be accepted and used. Efforts could also be made towards enhancing the proximity of local markets to local producers. Government incentives at local production could also be made easily accessible to the people, and the provision of other social amenities like good roads, better and enhanced information quickened.

The challenges posed by developing worlds vary widely by geography, culture and level of economic achievement. Thus, the adoption of new improved technologies is imperative to matching these variables-ward. Evident is the fact that peoples across diversities vary. Hence, methods adopted need be made to fit the way of life of their differences. Let’s note fully well that a wide shift of paradigms could mean effective distractions and might be non-effective in resolutions. Rightful implementation of ICTs is a powerful tool when used in the right way as part of an overall development strategy.

ICTs could help Nigerians and Africans further enhance their capabilities and empower themselves socially, economically, politically, and otherwise. ICTs could also be used in combating the manace of HIV/AIDS, eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, enhanced environmental sustainability, revalidation of inputs into products and services, reduction of child mortality and improvement of maternal health. The list is indomitable.

We at Rushmillion.com’s Open Africa Project team have established strategies towards enhancing the environment through viable production, using tourism as an effective tool. Moderation is not applied in promoting what Africa offers in terms of our riches in culture an linguistics. Nothing matches this unity in diversity.

The key to poverty reduction, in the end, is sustained economic growth. By using ICTs, Nigerians and Africans can make a significant contribution to economic growth through increasing labour productivity, increase in the real ICT capital stock per work, and through the overall productivity growth across the entire economy arising from re-organization of production around ICT good and services. At the micro-economic level, ICTs could be used to provide better and enhanced incentives geared towards meeting the needs of farmers, civil workers and entrepreneurs with opportunities to reduce transaction costs, counter inefficiencies, increase market coverage, and improve competitiveness, even across borders.

Economic growth and social equity are both needed to bridge international and domestic digital divides. However, no consensus exists on exactly what policies are needed for either of these goals. Governments face constituencies with radically different perspectives on how to bridge the divides, ranging from labour unions to international businesses to government oriented regulatory agencies. Lots of initiatives to shape policies are launched in this process. On this platform, lots of opinionated views are aired to make culture findings on this issue.

The large part of bridging divide lies on the whole with federal and constituted governments. First and foremost, there must be an enabling environment for technology to thrive. An environment coupled with distributed destructive tendencies is not credible to the enhancement of technological inputs, but only helps to foundation the destruction and distraction of technology already domicile. With this technological enhancement, skilled manpower will be developed and threat to life kept at arms-lengths, if not totally eliminated. International bodies begin to show up without being invited, start investing without any apprehension, and start building that workforce we so much crave for. What more, that ill feeling about Nigerians that “The West” is the only place they could possibly “make it” is dethroned. Quality of life is enhanced. Drugs and medicine are available and curative ones at that, affordable and life transforming. Awareness is developed, and education is evenly distributed and made affordable. Whatever was an excusive preserve of a privileged few is exterminated (such as what we have in the communications industry in Nigeria), people know their rights and what they are worth, and they make noise and make news.

Real access to ICT is affected by nearly all aspects of policy, ranging from collective bargaining and general macro economic policies. I couldn’t finish my count of licenced telecommunications industries and service providers in Germany. They even make it available on some of their mobile facilities/equipments for the customer to have his pick. That spell-bound wall-faces skyscraper should be given the feet to move - it should be permeated - notably telecommunications licensing and regulation, telecommunications privatization, spectrum allocation, Internet Domain Management, Banking and the financial sector, standards setting, customer standardization, environmental servicing and protection, gender equality etc. high time we stop constituting the bulk of our own peril.

No matter the height of technology, its absolutely ineffective when not brought to our doorstep. But the highpoint is, we have to gather to build that bridge where we could possibly cross to get our waves onshore and offshore without being there. Africans cry for markets when they already have them. Someone should please shout out to us that mankind is evolving. Let’s stop false-defencing ourselves. Lets learn to shove pride aside and face situations pointblank.

Possible solution? The emergence of credit cards could internationally accreditate purchases and bargaining even from the privacy of our ballroom. We could build punch cards that are internationally recognized that aid transactions. It is very simple to inundate privacy policies to enhance security of these materials and to reduce theft. Millions of productive lives have been lost “motoring” transactions. Let’s minimize time consumed by making use of effective technology.

Once this apparatus is set before second tier countries, surprisingly enough they might not jump at it. But culture has been so enhanced to facilitate adage. It is commonly said that if you want men to help you in building a ship, you should tell them stories to make them yearn and crave for the vast and interesting sea. Lets bestow upon ourselves an inheritance that our forefathers never left for us.
